Account Payable Technician

Under the supervision of the Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for the optimal management of accounts payable and the production of accurate financial information for all companies and divisions of the VA Group, while looking after the interests and profitability of the company. Responsability

  • Responsible for accounts payable;
  • Assist and participate in the improvement of accounting and operational processes in order to improve the turnaround time for the production of financial statements (work methodology optimizing the efficiency of the steps);
  • Ensure the supervision and efficient management of invoice entries to the system (standard invoices, claims, agencies, mechanical workshop, fuel, expense accounts and credit card);
  • Make payments by cheque, bank transfer, pre-authorized payments, according to schedules established by the company based on our cash-flow situation;
  • Perform systematic approval analyses;
  • Imaging of supplier contracts and permanent files;
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts payable;
  • Analyze detailed auxiliaries to justify balances;
  • Process credits to suppliers' accounts;
  • Prepare tables using Excel (pivot tables);
  • Roll up reports and extract data from the system;
  • Participate in the company's daily and forecast cash management;
  • Participate in month-end closings;
  • Respond to the various needs of suppliers and divisions;
  • Manage required reports to management within established deadlines;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements

  • DEP in accounting;
  • Relevant experience of 5 years with accounts payable;
  • Bilingualism, French and English, oral and written;
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel software;
  • Ability to use computer tools;
  • Knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Dynamics GP an asset;
  • Ability to manage time and priorities;
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment;
  • Good teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a high volume of work.
