Local & long-distance class 1 driver

Under the supervision of the Dispatcher, the VA driver is responsible, resourceful, rigorous, attentive and professional. In addition, they drive their tractor-trailers carefully and courteously on local and long-distance routes.

Responsabilities

  • Make deliveries and pick-ups at our customers' sites;
  • Drive a semi-trailer truck safely on local and long-distance routes;
  • Handle merchandise when loading or unloading the trailer;
  • Demonstrate courtesy on the road and with our customers;
  • Collect payments, where applicable, and remit them to the persons responsible;
    Carry out pre-trip checks;
  • Apply various policies, work procedures, laws and regulations;
  • Fill out shipping documents properly;
  • All other related tasks.


Requirements

  • Class 1 license, FM endorsement;
  • Minimum experience: DEP or 1 year experience;
  • Fluency in French ;
  • Able to make a physical effort;
  • Good driving record;
  • Available for a day shift;
  • Courtesy behind the wheel/conscientious/daredevil/safe driving.

  • Variable work week, Monday to Friday, between 45 and 60 hours;
  • Variable hourly or mileage pay;
  • Departure from Laurier-Station terminal;
